Breckenridge Golf Club:
Colorado Golfer rated Breckenridge Golf Club, the only Jack Nicklaus-designed, municipal golf course on the planet, as the Best Mountain Course in Colorado. The 27-hole, 72-par course is settled amidst the picturesque Rocky Mountains with streams, beaver ponds, native grasses, sagebrush, wetlands, pine and aspen groves. Breckenridge Recreation Center:
The 69,000 square foot Breckenridge Recreation Center provides a wide variety of indoor recreation including free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, various aerobics classes, racquetball courts, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, two climbing walls, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, indoor track, softball fields, a skateboard park, childcare facilities, sauna, steam room, hot tubs, two indoor swimming pools and a waterslide. 970.453.1734
Indoor and Outdoor Ice Arenas:
The Stephen C. West Indoor Ice Arena and Outdoor Rink features four, team locker rooms, two meeting spaces, a full-service pro-shop, skate rental and a concession stand. The indoor arena, open year-round, offers skate sessions daily for hockey games and practice, ice skating practice and team training. Riverwalk Center:
The Riverwalk Center houses the Breckenridge Music Institute Orchestra from June to August. It also provides a summer home for The National Repertory Orchestra and events such as the Breckenridge Town Party, the Kidz Calliope concert series and private gatherings, such as weddings. Kayak Park:
Breckenridge has the longest whitewater kayak park in the state of Colorado. This 1,800-foot park includes 15 features such as splash rocks, drop structures, eddie pools, play waves and s-curves. Hiking & Biking Trails:
The Town of Breckenridge manages a number of trails of various terrain which explore scenic areas, lead to interesting destinations, connect with neighborhoods and provide alternatives to automobile transportation. Nordic Centers:
Breckenridge boasts two, acclaimed Nordic centers. The Gold Run Nordic Center at the Breckenridge Golf Club has over 20 groomed kilometers of skating and classic trails, plus backcountry touring and snowshoe trails. Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC):
The BOEC was established in 1976 to help people of all abilities develop their full potential through outdoor experiences. The center has three programs: Adaptive Skiing and Winter Sports, a therapeutic Wilderness Program and the Professional Challenge Program. The BOEC serves individuals with special needs, youth-at-risk, persons with mental and physical disabilities, corporate groups, adults and students.
The Breckenridge Mountain Bike Freeride Park:
This entry-level, free ride stunt park, one of the first five parks permitted on public lands in the nation, has become an example to many municipalities in Colorado and across the country. The park consists of approximately ten features, which range from raised ramps and teeter-totters to log rides and a series of jumps for mountain bikers.
